I am sure by now u guys have heard about the Yue Yue, the 2 year old kid who was ranover Twice by lorries in China. She was left to die for close to seven minutes and no one CAME to his aid. He was only saved by Chen Xianmei (58) of a garbage collector, and is now being treated in hospital intensive control unit Foshan in Guangdong Province. He is now in a coma with brain injuries extensively. Not very good prognosis and the hospital will try their best to treat them. But there was a news report said Yue Yue was already brain dead, and he actually is dead.

Polis berjaya menangkap kedua-dua pemandu yang melangar Yue Yue. Lelaki yang mula melanggar beliau mengaku menggunakan telefon bimbit ketika memandu. Beliau juga mengaku cuba membayar pampasan kepada bapa Yue Yue sebelum menyerah diri kepada pihak polis. Bila ditanya mengapa beliau tidak membantu Yue Yue selepas dilanggar lelaki itu berkata

"Jika dia mati saya hanya perlu bayat 20 000 yuan. Jika dia hanya cedera saya perlu bayar ratusan ribu yuan"

Ini adalah budaya disana. Saya membaca tentang budaya masyarakat di China. Jika sesorang itu mati yang mengakibatkan kematian perlu membayar wang pampasan. Tetapi jika mangsa cedera dan cacat yang mengakibatkan kecacatan harus menanggung kos sara hidup mangsa seumur hidup. This is a Chinese culture of HONOUR. Di China ada beberapa kes yang mana orang yang membantu mangsa tercedera selepas kemalangan terpaksa bayar "honour money" yang aku sebutkan diatas. Adakah Yue Yue akan hidup normal semula? I doubt it. Will the driver dikenakan hukuman berat? I doubt it too that is the law. Yang pasti Chen Xianmei kini menjadi hero di China kerana beliau menyelamatkan Yue Yue. Beliau juga diberi ganjaran USD 1570 oleh pihak berwajib Foshan sebagai ganjaran hati murninya.

Melihat2 bajet PM memberikan gambaran negara ini mewah dan pebendaharaan negara melimpahruah dgn wang yg tidak terhad banyaknya. Juga, kepada saya, semacam memberi gambaran seorang ayah yg kayaraya memberikan apa saja kahendak tanggungannya. Saya berharap sangat2 gambaran dan tanggapan saya ini betul dan akan dilaksanakan dan ditunaikan seperti yg dijanjikan.
Cumanya, apa kesan bajet sakan ini kepada org kampong yg tidak berpendapatan tetap dan yg rata2 masih miskin? Yg pastinya, harga barang pengguna akan terus naik disebabkan akibat durian runtuh yg dinikmati oleh sektor yang masih berkerja dan berpendapatan tetap, yg mungkin jumlahnya 30% dari jumlah penduduk keseluruhannya. Lihat pada diri kita ('pesara' exBBMB) misalnya yg sudah tidak lagi berpendapatan. Apa yg jelas harga barangan keperluan akan terus naik dan kuasabeli menurun. Sekarang ini pun, apa yg murah yg ada di pasar basah misalnya? Ayam rm8.50 per kg yg Jan2010 dulu hanya sekitar rm5 per kg. Tidak ada harga ikan per kg dibawah rm10 - kecuali ikan keli, dan ikan kembong yg sudah pecah perut!
Begitu banyak wang ditabur2kan, kenapa tidak diturunkan saja harga barangan keperluan - seperti beras, tepung, gula, susu, bahan bakar, petrol dsbnya? Kalau itu dibuat, SEMUA golongan rakyat akan menikmatinya, termasuk mereka yg berkerja dgn kerajaan.
Entahlah..... Saya masih memikir2 bagaimana mahu menangani avalenche kenaikkan harga barangan2 keperluan hidup harian kita. Bagaimana mahu menangani kenaikan kos perkhidmatan kesihatan, kos petrol dsbnya. Yang pastinya, kos kenaikan barangan ini tidak boleh dilawan dengan menaikkan gaji, bonos dan dividen. Lagi banyak kenaikkan gaji, akan lagi tinggi kos barangan. Dan amat malang sektor yg sudah tidak berpendapatan kerana mereka (dan kita) terpaksa menghadapinya. Dan kita sudah tidak lagi muda utk menghadapi ini semua.
Bahan2 mentah utk membuat kueh dan kookis akan terus naik. Harga kueh dan kookis tidak boleh dinaikkan sewenang2nya! Kos penghantaran mahal. Komesyen pekedai utk kita menitipkan barang jualan rata2 30%. (3buah karipap berharga rm1 dan rm0.30sen adalah komesyen pekedai. Tinggal rm0.70sen - dari situlah akan ditolak harga tepong dan bahan2 mentah, harga packaging, kos ponghantaran dsbnya. Itu belum masuk kerugian yg dihadapi kerana karipap tidak laku dan tarikh expired! C

Why TS Hassan Marican left Petronas?

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 — Tan Sri Hassan Marican, who retired as Petronas CEO last year because of friction with the Najib administration, has accepted another directorship outside Malaysia, this time at US oil and gas giant ConocoPhillips.Since leaving Petronas at the beginning of last year, Marican has accepted several directorships with Singapore GLCs including at Sembcorp, SembCorp Marine and Singapore Power. ConocoPhillips said today that Marican was appointed as a new outside director effective December 1, 2011. Marican was part of the board that had appeared to have clashed with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak back in late 2009 over the appointment of a former senior aide as a Petronas director despite the prime minister having absolute powers in board appointments. It was reported then that the former aide — Omar Mustapha — was rejected twice and was appointed only after Najib had put his foot down. Petronas had also decided not to sponsor the Malaysian-backed Lotus F1 Racing team, going instead with the Mercedes Formula One team. Marican was widely credited with turning Petronas into the only other state-run major international player in the oil and gas space apart from Norway’s Statoil. The former Petronas chief stepped down on February 2010 after 15 years with the company and was appointed a director with Singapore GLC Sembcorp Industries by June. Marican’s flurry of overseas appointments also come at a time when Malaysia is grappling with a chronic brain drain that threatens to derail its developed country ambitions. Some Shocking News on Air Asia !! ......... ** ** *Warning - How Air Asia Compromised Passengers' Safety * *Read and decide for yourself..............

Making right caculation of taking Air Asia, there is no saving at all!!

Actually they do have a point – if you notice their arrival and departure times, the turnaround time is very short only. Just time only for cleaning the aircraft and passengers to board. Hardly any time for any checking the engines, etc, etc or whatever they need to do………….. I guess this is not the only happening. I was caught in Taipei for 6 hours waiting for the flight to take off and honestly I do not know whether that plane is fit to take off. We were told that something was wrong with the plane and when they checked they could not find the fault and the airport authority in Taipei would not let us go unless AA KL took full responsibility. Guess what?.... KL sent that fax and we took off..... Were we being compromised on our safety? You probably know the answer This guy has a valid point. I always wondered how safe is AirAsia, given the way it is managed and founded and how much is being compromised in the name of profits! I find that it is one of the most unfriendly airline. It still owes my wife RM80/- unpaid for the last 3 years! It is not the money I care about but the principle of honesty in its dealing with customers. Don't believe me, try calling AirAsia and see if you can get through to an operator! Until this Fernandez fellow comes up with a true explanation, leaving no stone unturned, this mail should be spread throughout the world so that those who fly AirAsia know that they do so at their own risk! Good, I hope this warning reach as many people as possible, maybe it is time we should not take for granted that Air Asia is the cheapest flight and try to save less than RM100.00, in exchange for our life. Hope this message reach Air Asia - to shake them up. Thanks for your warning. Our Bangkok trip was superb but it was scarred by one thing. Our flight with Air Asia. I will, and I am pretty certain my friends who were with me too will NEVER, EVER FLY Air Asia again. I do hope Tony Fernandez or his team reads this. You DO NOT compromise the safety of traveller under any circumstances. Even if the flight is free, of which IT is not. The good thing was, everything was on schedule this time - the flight boarding time and all but nightmare soon followed when the plane was on its way to the runway. We were all seated, the plane was packed to the brim as usual and many were seen in chirpy mood after their superb time I presume and the flight attendants were showing us the flight´s safety procedure. Out of the sudden, the plane´s engine STALLED. Came to a total Halt. S-T-O-P-P-E-D. Right there. All the lights went off, no sound was heard from the engine or any equipment in the plane whatsoever. It was total silence from the plane and all we heard were whispers of confusion from our part. The pilot announcement came much later citing main electrical problem and will soon steer the plane back to the gate. I assumed that was for either troubleshooting or putting us into another flight BUT ...AIR ASIA, the HERO ... did not troubleshoot the problem but instead reloaded some program only and restarted the plane´s engine and ready to take off! To make matters worst, there wasn´t even any offer for passengers to get off or to change their flights! Fearing for our safety as images of the engine dying again, we informed the crew on board we are getting off. I was not sure if the pilot had the intention to get back to the gate as the plane were seen heading towards a different direction. Alas after two desperate prompting from us, they did. I thought getting off the plane under such circumstance are our rights. After all, the plane was not 100% fit to fly and it should be checked under any circumstances. But what came next was even better. The Air Asia pilot whom I assume were on his xxx number of flight of the day (he looked tired and his eyes were piercing red) asked if it is necessary for us to get off! Is he afraid that the flight delay will cost the airline xxx amount of Ringgit! Is that of utmost importance? The pilot had the nerve even to explain that this electrical issue is no big deal! Air Asia, can you answer this. What if the engine died again during taking off? What if the engine died in midair? What if the engine died during landing? Air Asia simply can´t guarantee that the engine will not die again without any proper trouble shooting. That would be my last time stepping on an Air Asia plane. No more, thank you. Moreover, I discovered a better flight within Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok route and it is Lufthansa, the reputable German Airline. Not that I´m trying to apple polish them, do hop over to their Lufthansa Technical Group website to understand how stringent the German´s are with Maintenance and Safety System. Here´s my comparison between an Air Asia Flight versus Lufthansa which I took back to Kuala Lumpur. AIR ASIA Fare Paid : approximately MYR 280 one way Plane Type : Airbus 320 Seat Size : Small and Uncomfortable Luggage : Pay Extra Entertainment : Pay Extra Meals : Pay Extra Pillows and Blankets : Pay Extra Punctuality : Average Safety : Hell No! Pilot Profile : Questionable. I have heard countless stories of Air Asia pilots flying as many flights per day as possible akin to Malaysia Express Bus Service style, and partying up to late nights. LUFTHANSA Fare Paid : approximately MYR 350 one way Plane Type : Boeing 747 Seat Size : Much roomier than Air Asia as this is a transit flight from Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur Luggage : 20 kg Entertainment : Included Meals : Full Meal and Drinks including Sparkling Wine Pillow and Blankets : Included Punctuality : Good Safety : Very Safe with Top Notch Safety Procedure provided by Lufthansa Technical Group (own Maintenance Equipment and Machine in Every Airport in the World) Pilot Profile : The most well paid in the world at approximately 250K Euro per Annam.
